Bobby the Bear

In our feature, children of Nettleham Junior School discuss Bobby the Bear, a class bear, at their school. Evidently, a policeman came one day to present to the children the stuffed bear (pictured above). Students are able to bring home the bear that is passed around throughout the year if they’ve been kind or done something compassionate for another person.

Bobby is a thoughtful way to thank students for showing appropriate behavior for children. We found this to be important towards our piece as many primary school students have a hard time fitting in, making friends, and dealing with stress at an early age. Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness is a foundation based movement to encourage each of us to focus on making ourselves and those around us happy. Children at Nettleham mentioned this program at their school and what they’ve done to be a part of it. One student told us that after a trip out of Nettleham, they thanked the bus driver by having
a group write him a thank you note to show their appreciation for his service.

Louis the Puppet – Birth to Five Service

A project based within Lincolnshire for the early year sector. Louis the puppet was brought up by a professional at Bishop Grosseteste. He is a way for young children to always have someone by their side and plays the important role of helping kids with transitions.
